يعد هذا الكتاب حلقة من سلسلة المصنفات العلمية التي عمدت إلى شرح وتفسير قصيدة الطغرائي المشهورة بـ(لامية العجم)، التي تعد المقابل الشعري والفني لقصيدة الشنفرى المشهورة بـ ( لامية العرب)، بل إن الأخيرة لم تحظ بما حظيت به الأولى من اهتمام الشراح والنقاد، ذلك أن الشروح والمختصرات للامية العجم زادت على الخمسين، وهذا الكتاب صنعه الشيخ كمال الدميري (808) وحاول فيه تلخيص كتاب الصفدي(764هجري) : (الغيث الذي انسجم في شرح لامية العجم) مستبعدا ما يراه من إسهاب وتمثيل، وتعليل ليقدم هذا المصنف موجزا لقضايا في اللغة والإعراب والمعنى، مع التمثيل الموجز والتعبير المختصر، ومدعوما بالمرويات والحكايات والطرائف.
