تجيء أهمية الكتاب في أنه يكشف العلاقة المتبادلة بين عبد الله رضوان الشاعر والناقد من ناحية والآخر الباحث والقارئ من ناحية أخرى، ولهذا قسم الكتاب إلى ثلاثة أقسام : القسم الأول احتوى المنتخبات التي تناولت نقد عبد الله رضوان ومنها ما كتبه د. أحمد ياسين الحرود تحت عنوان \"المنهج الاجتماعي عند عبد الله رضوان\"، ود. رفقة دودين تحت عنوان \"قراءات في كتاب الرائي\"، وكانت مشاركة القواسمة تحت عنوان \"في النقد الروائي : عبد الله رضوان نموذجا\"، أما القسم الثاني فتضمن المنتخبات النقدية التي تناولت الشعر، ومنها ما كتبه أحمد الخطيب ود. أحمد عرفات وأحمد عودة وحسين نشوان وزياد العناني وطراد الكبيسي ومحمد لافي ود. محمد جابر عباس وناجح المعموري، وهيا صالح ويوسف ضمرة.
