يمتاز هذا الكتاب بشرحه عبادة البطولة وتقديس عظماء الرجال شرحا وافيا دقيقا لم يدع لقائل مجالا وأن من قرأ هذا الكتاب وكان كافرا ملحدا مستهزئا بعظمة ابن آدم منكرا عبقرية الإنسان ساخرا من عظماء الرجال وعشاقهم فلم يشف من داء الكفر والجحود والاستهزاء والسخر فليس في طاقة القلم ولا سلطان البلاغة ولا في قوى الانس والجن ما يشفى علته أو يغير ما به، وأحسن ما جاء في ذلك الكتاب فصل عن المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم فقد كان كارليل من أكتب الناس ومن أشد البلغاء تمكنا من اللسان واقتدارا على اللغة.
