يعمل هذا الكتاب على تبسيط العناوين الأساسية المهمة في النسبيتين، أولها أنه يشرح مفاهيم النظريتين النسبية العامة والخاصة بشكل شبه شامل، بالطبع هو لا يدخل في أي تفاصيل معقدة ولا يتخطى حدود المبتدئين، لكنه يستطيع أن ينقل لك-بصورة قريبة-ما يعنيه أن نتحدث عن النظرية النسبية، والموضوعات الأساسية فيها. تنقسم النظرية إلى قسمين : \"النسبية الخاصة\" التي صاغها أينشتاين في عام 1905، و\"النسبية العامة\" التي ظهرت في عام 1916م، تركز النسبية الخاصة على تأثيرات الحركة المنتظمة على كل من المكان والزمان، أما النسبية العامة فتتضمن التأثيرات الإضافية للعجلة والجاذبية، والنسبية الخاصة، كما يتضح من اسمها، ما هي إلا حالة خاصة من النسبية العامة الأعم والأشمل. وسنبدأ رحلتنا مع تلك الحالة الخاصة.
