بما أن الكتاب بقلم عسكري فهو لا يتطرق إلى الجوانب الفلسفية أو حتى السياسية، فالكتاب يركز بشكل أساسي على الجوانب العسكرية التفصيلية سواء للاستعدادات العسكرية والخط والتجهيزات مع ربطها بالأفراد والإسهاب في تفصيل المعركة وأسباب الهزيمة. الكاتب كشف حقائق مثيرة فيما يختص بضعف الإستعدادت على الجبة السورية وكذب النظام فيما يخص بأن الجهوزية كانت في أقصها، بل ويتهم الكاتب النظام بالتقصير المتعمد بل وبتدمير القوى السورية في الجولان تمهيدا لتسليمه. ويتطرق لبعض القصص الشخصية التي تؤكد هذه الادعاءات.
