هذا الكتاب قصة تاريخيه فرنسية عربية، تروى البداية العاصفة للعلاقات المباشرة بين فرنسا ومصر في نهاية القرن الثاني عشر والثالث عشر حين شعر الفرنجة بأهميه مصر إبان الحملة الصليبية، وبعد فشل الملوك الفرنسيين فى الحمله الصليبيه الثالثه فى الاستيلاء على القدس، ويهدف هذا الكتاب إلى محاولة توضيح كيف أن المصريين خاصة والعرب في منطقه الشرق الأوسط عامه أدركوا المعنى الحقيقي لتوجه جموع من الفرنجة نحوهم متخذه من الصليب شعارا.
