هذا الكتاب، قد وضع لمستوى تلك الفئة التي اجتازت مرحلة الدراسة الثانوية، والتي ترغب في الإستزادة من الثقافة الصحية كطلاب الخدمة الإجتماعية، والجامعة الشعبية، ومعاهد التربية والتمريض، فقد عملت جاهدا على أن أجعل قراءته مثمرة محببة لمن هم فوق هذا المستوى أو دونه، من ذلك أن مادة التشريح لم يكتب عنها إلا القليل اللازم لتتبع وظائف الأعذاء وكل ما أمكن تبيانه بالرسم أسقط حسابه من الشرح حتى لا يثقل الأمر على القراء، كما لم يكتب عن وظيفة أي عضو إلا ذلك القدر اللازم للسهر عليه والعناية به، بيد أن ما ورد من الحديث عن علة شائعة أو مرض معروف، فليوازن القارئ بين عمل الأعضاء في الصحة وعملها في المرض.
