شاءت إرادة الله -عز وجل- أن يعمر الكون، وقد اختار -سبحانه- الإنسان ليكون خليفته في الأرض. فسخر له كل الموجودات، ولكن الله -جلت مشيئته- جعل معه عوالم أخرى من الكائنات تشاركه الحياة فوق هذه الأرض. وقد ميز الله الإنسان بالعقل، فكانت له السيادة على الأشياء والأنواع، ودعاه الله إلى إعمال الفكر والتدبر لمعرفة الكون لتحقيق السيطرة عليه وللإفادة منه. والحشرات تعيش معنا فوق كوكبنا بأعداد رهيبة، وبقدرات عظيمة، وبإمكانات هائلة، وكان أن نشأ صراع بين الإنسان والحشرات، حيث اعتقد الإنسان أنه كي يحيا آمنا فوق الأرض لابد أن يواجه الحشرات ويقضي عليها، لذلك فهو لابد وأن يتعرف عليها.
