علم النحو أثر رائع من آثار العقل العربي بما له من دقة في الملاحظة ومن نشاط في جمع ما تفرق، وهو أثر وإرث عظيم يرغم الناظر فيه على تقديره ويحق للعرب أن يفخروا به، بدأ تدوين علم النحو في القرن الأول الهجري، ونما وترعرع في القرنين الثاني الثالث وقد هيأ الله-سبحانه وتعالى-علماء أفذاذا خدموا هذا الفن ورعوه حق رعايته أمثال سيبويه والأخفش والفراء وابن مالك وغيرهم كثير، كما حفظت كتبهم ومتونهم هذا العلم الجليل ومن أعظمها تلك الألفية التي أبدعها ابن مالك وتناقلها طلاب العلم وحفظوها وتدارسوها عبر العصور، وقد شرح تلك الألفية علماء جهابذة متقدمون ومتأخرون واليوم يقدم الكتاب للقارئ شرحا جديدا لهذا المنظومة، شرحا يواكب روح العصر وتطور العلوم واتساع نافذة التفكير.
