تبرهن هذه القصة على أن البطولة التي تسطر المجد في صفحات التاريخ لم تخلق لكي تهب نفسها للرجال دون النساء؛ فلقد سطرت بطلة هذه القصة «عائشة المخزومية» صفحة مضيئة من صفحات النضال في التاريخ الإسلامي بطموحها الذي شق طريقه عبر جبال الصعاب ليعتلي قمم المجد. وقد برع الكاتب «علي الجارم» في اختيار عنوان هذه القصة التي كشفت عن مغزى البطولة فيها امرأة أحدثت دهشة لدى المتلقي وجذبت لب القارئ إليها. كما استطاع المؤلف أن يوازن بين عاطفة الحب وعاطفة الاعتداد بالنفس عند عائشة؛ فمن يقرأ القصة يجد أن عائشة لم تسكر بخمر محبتها ﻟ «مغيث»، ولكنها انتصرت لكبريائها حينما ألقى على مسمعها بيتا من الشعر عبر فيه عن أن الرجال قد خلقوا للقتال، وخلقت النساء لجر الذيول؛ فأجابته عائشة بسهام القول، وسيف الفعل.
