في هذا الكتاب تحقيق لمخطوطة في الأدب والرحلة وهي مخطوطة كتبها أحمد البجائي المعروف بأبي عصيدة، بعنوان \"رسالة الغريب إلى الحبيب\"، وهي مراسلة مطولة يعتب بها من الحجاز عندما كان مجاورا للحرم النبوي، إلى صديقه وبلديه أبي الفضل المشدالي الذي كان عندئذ بمصر، وقد ذكر فيها عن رحيله من مصر إلى الحجاز، ووصف حالة فراق صاحبه المشدالي، وذكر طلبه المراسلة من صاحبه، ثم ذكر بعد ذلك أخبار رحلته التي قام بها من مدينة تونس إلى المدينة المنورة مرورا بمصر والقدس، كما ذكر أيضا في متن الرحلة من لقيه خلالها من الرجال، فهذا الكتاب يحتوي على رحلة المؤلف من تونس إلى الحجاز من جهة، ومن جهة أخرى يحتوي على مسائل علمية وصوفية مع ذكر العديد من المرابع التي استشارها.
