موسوعة \"طريق الحرير\" من تأليف أشرف أبو اليزيد، نشرت في إطار مشروع توثيق طريق الحرير الذي تنفذه مكتبة الإسكندرية بالتعاون مع عدد من الجهات الدولية. وتعد هذه الموسوعة الثانية في السلسلة بعد كتاب \"سمرقند\". تقع الموسوعة المصورة في حوالي (220) صفحة، وهي تنقسم إلى ثلاثة أقسام، شمل الأول المدن التي وصل إليها طريق الحرير أو عبر بها، وقدم فيها الكاتب 374 مدينة. واختص القسم الثاني بالآداب والفنون التي اشتهرت في أرجائه من الدين والأدب والجغرافيا والتاريخ وفنون الحياة اليومية بما فيها فنون الطعام. وجعل المؤلف الجزء الأخير للممالك والأعلام التي عرفها طريق الحرير خلال نحو 16 قرنا. جدير بالذكر أن مصطلح \"طريق الحرير\" هو اسم جامع لخطوط القوافل المنقولة برا من وإلى الصين في أقصى الشرق، مرورا بالقارة الآسيوية غربا، وصولا إلى قلب أوروبا.
