نسعى من خلال هذا العمل إلى نفض التراب عن تراث هذا الرجل الذي ضيعة قومه، وبعث الروح في إرثه الفكري من خلال تحقيق تفسيره لسورة الفاتحة، وتسليط الضوء على منهجه التفسيري، الأمر الذي يعكس مكانته العلمية. تكمن أهمية هذا العمل في إثراء المكتبة الجزائرية عموما والعسكرية بشكل خاص بعنوان في حقل من حقول المعرفة التي قلما خاض فيها علماء جزائر، فالتأليف في علم التفسير لدي علماء الجزائر قليل بالمقارنة مع مشاركاتهم في باب الفقه مثلا، وهنا تكمن أهمية هذا العمل في الإخراج إلى النور تاليف من مؤلفات علماء الجز فن عزیز وهو علم التفسير.
