قام المؤلف بتقسيم الكتاب إلى \"ثمانية فصول\" وكل فصل ينتهي بأسئلة تقيس مدى قدرة القارئ على إستيعابه لمواضيع الفصل حيث تناول الفصل الأول تطور مفاهيم البحث العلمي أما الفصل الثاني فتناول مناهج البحث العلمي كما تناول الفصل الثالث خطة البحث العلمي كذلك الفصل الرابع تصنيف أدوات جمع المعلومات (أداة البحث) وتناول الفصل الخامس مجتمع وعينة البحث كما تناول الفصل السادس أنواع الإقتباس والتوثيق وكذلك تناول الفصل السابع تصميم شكل البحث وأخيرا تناول الفصل الثامن كتابة تقرير البحث.
