صدر عن الهيئة العامة السورية للكتاب وضمن سلسلة \"آفاق ثقافية\" الكتاب الشهري \"تقاسيم ترجمية\" من تأليف الدكتور جمال شحيد، وتصميم الغلاف للفنان عبد العزيز محمد، حيث يقع في حوالي 376 صفحة من القطع المتوسط. وذكر بيان صاد عن الناشر أن الكتاب يمثل تداعيات مترجم أمضى جزءا كبيرا من حياته في التأليف والترجمة. ومثلت اللغة الفرنسية جانبا كبيرا من اهتماماته. عمل مؤلفه في النقد الأدبي، ولكن الترجمة لعبت الدور الأكبر من نشاطاته، لأنه رأى أنها حلقة وصل بين اللغات والحضارات والبشر. وكما قال خوسيه ساراماغو إذا كان التأليف يمثل اللغة المحلية، فإن الترجمة تمثل اللغة العالمية. صحيح أن الكتاب مساهمات في مؤتمرات ومقالات بخاصة، ولكنه يصب في خانة الترجمة روحا وقالبا، وتتصادى معلوماته مع أحدث النظريات في الترجمة العالمية.
