هو كتاب عن حياة وآثار علم أندلسي، سطع نجمه في مـجال الكتابة والشعر في العهد الموحدي ألا وهو أبو المطرف أحمد بن عبد الله بن محمد بن الحسين بن عميرة المخزومي، ولم يسبق أن تناول أحد من الدارسين المعاصرين، شخصية أدبية بمثل المنهج الذي سلكه الأستاذ محمد بنشريفة فهو لم يُعول على كتب التراجم والتاريخ في بناء سيرة المترجم، بل استخرج مادة غزيرة عن حياته وبيئته العلمية والأدبية، من خلال تصانيفه وآثاره، وترك ابن عميرة يتحدث عن نفسه، ويدبج منظومه ومنثوره، واصفا تارة، ومادحا وهاجيا تارة أخرى، ولم يكن هذا المسلك سهلا موطأ.
