يعد كتاب \"نوني وحكاويها\" هو الأول للكاتبة منى الدغيدي، الذي أهدته إلى عدد من أفراد أسرتها، من بينهم نجلها الفنان آسر ياسين وزوجته، ووضعت صورتها معه ومع أفراد أسرتها على غلاف الكتاب، وفي كتابها تعرض منى الدغيدي مواقف متعددة من حياتها منذ كانت طفلة صغيرة وحتى الآن، مستخدمة لغة بسيطة ولهجة عامية معظم الوقت في سردها للأحداث، وتقول في مقدمة كتابها : منى الدغيدي الشهيرة بالست أم آسر وإسلام وساعات بأبقى نوني ومازي وتوتا، اتولدت في بورسعيد وعشت في القنطرة وزي ما بيقولوا ترعرعت في المحروسة واتحبيت في لندن ودرست في نيچيريا وحبيت في إسكندرية وعشت في السويس وبكده أبقي غطيت خط الكنال كله واتغربت في بلاد الأناضول واستقريت في أبو ظبي وبعد اللفة دي كلها رسيت على بر مصر المحروسة.
