يتحدث د. عبد الفتاح كليطيو في كتابه هذا عن أهمية معرفة إسم المؤلف وإرتباطه بتجديد الخصائص الأسلوبية التي ينطوي عليها النص. كذلك أشار الكاتب إلى تفشي ظاهرة السرقات الأدبية والإنتحال بين المؤلفين مما صعب على القارئ إمكانية معرفة المؤلف الحقيقي للكاتب، وركز الكاتب على واقعة تناسخ المقطوعات الشعرية ولا سيما في الشعر الجاهلي وتحدث عن مسألة التزييف الذي اعترف بها الجاحظ في بعض رسائله وبأنه نسب بعضاً من كتبه إلى كتاب سابقين.
