Overview
تدور أحداث الرواية-بشكل مختصر-عن شخصية حرير التي تخضع لسلطة جدتها التي تتحكم بالأسرة بأكملها، مما يدفع حرير إلى كتابة يومياتها لسبع سنوات متواصلة، ثم تخبئ تلك الدفاتر في خزانة الملابس التي تحتوي على ممر سري يؤدي لغرفة صغيرة، بعد موت حرير بسنوات عدة يهجر المنزل، فتعود ابنة اختها من أميركا لعرض هذا البيت للبيع، يتقدم أحد الرجال الأغنياء لشرائه، وخلال فترة إقامته في البيت يكتشف أمر تلك الخزانة السرية ويقرأ تلك المذكرات ليكشف الغموض عن معظم تفاصيل الرواية، لنعرف من خلال الأحداث أن الذي تقدم لشراء البيت كان على علاقةٍ مع حرير، ومن ثم تجيب الرواية على سؤال يتعلق بنوع تلك العلاقة وسبب شراء هذا المنزل !
