وفي هذا الكتاب الذي خصصت به طرق الخليج قابلت في الفصل الأول والجزء الأول من الفصل الثاني، بين طرق ابن ماجد وطرق البحارة المتأخرين التي وصفها القطامي في كتابه و دليل المحتار في علم البحار في الجانب الشرقي من الخليج ؛ أما الجانب الغربي فلم يذكر ابن ماجد شيئا من طرقه، سوى الطرق الفرعية التي تربط بعض مراسيه بمراسي البر الإيراني بعكس القطامي الذي وصف جميع الطرق في هذا الجانب، من (رأس مسعود) عند المضيق إلى خور البصرة، والطرق التي تربطه بالساحل.
