كتاب «الأمالي» لقاضي القضاة عبد الجبار المعتزلي كتاب نفيس في الحديث النبوي الشريف، أملاه القاضي عبد الجبار الهمذاني، شيخ المعتزلة في عصره، وفيه القارئ جانبا جديدا من معارف هذا الإمام المتعددة ؛ فكيا برع في المعقول، شارك في المنقول، فهو كتاب على طريقة المحدثين في إملاء الحديث سندا ومتنا، مع التعليق عليه، وذكر بعض فرائده، وهو في هذام يسلم من ترظيف الحديث الثبوي في خدمة مذهبه ومقالته الاعتزالية، وهذا أمر طبيعي، وإنما نسجله ليكون القارئ علل بينة من أمره ؛ فيقارن بين ما يمليه القاضي هنا وبين ما سطره أئمة أهل السنة والجماعة في تصانيفهم.
