قصة (لا يوجد لصوص في هذه المدينة) هي واحدة من أعظم ما جادت به قريحة الأديب العالمي جابرييل جارسيا ماركيز، التي نالت إستحسان العالم، بعد ترجمتها إلى معظم لغاته. (لا يوجد لصوص في هذه المدينة) هي قصة صعلوك شاب إسمه (دامازو) يعيش في بلدة صغيرة ليس له من المؤهلات سوى وسامته وأناقته وعينيه الجميلتين. وقد تزوج من إمرأة تشتغل بغسل الملابس وكيها، وهي تنفق عليه، وقد كان أهم شئ أراد ماركيز إبرازه في هذه القصة هو تعسف السلطة وفسادها. وفي هذا الكتاب سننهل أكثر من عبق هذه القصة الساحرة.
