هذا الكتاب يعطي القارئ صورة مصغرة لفظائع ووحشية ديوان التفتيش، حين كان يقوم باسم الدين المسيحي الذي يبرأ منه المسيح عيسى ابن مريم، وهي صورة يرى فيها القارئ ما كانت عليه قلوب هؤلاء القساوسة والرهبان من الغلظة والقسوة التي لاتمت إلى الانسانية بأي صلة. ويزيد الصورة جلاء ووضوحاً ما وضعه المؤلف من الصور الشمسية لبعض هذه المآسي الدامية.
