هذا الكتاب يتناول الصابئة المندئيين وعقائدهم الباطلة وشبهاتهم استنادا إلى بعض الراجعين منهم إلى دين التوحيد \"الإسلام\"، استنادا إلى كتبهم ورسائلهم، و كل ذلك جاء مستندا على كتاب الله العزيز الذي لا يأتيه الباطل من بين يديه ولا من خلفه. يقدس المندائيون يوحنا المعمدان ويؤمنون به، ويسمى عندهم يحيى. وهو آخر وأعظم الأنبياء عندهم. يتفق المندائيين على أنه عمد يسوع (عيسى)، إلا أنهم يرفضون الاعتراف بإن يسوع منقذ أو نبي. كما أنهم يرون يحيى هو المسيا الحقيقي. وفقا لنص من كتابهم الأقدس كنزا ربا، فأن يحيى مات على يد أحد الملائكة، الذي ظهر له على هيئة طفل عمره ثلاث سنوات طفل ليعمده. فطن يحيى أنه ملاك وعلم ما أرسل إليه، وبمجرد أن لمس يده، مات على الفور. بعد ذلك، دفن الملاك يحيى.
