الأستاذ علي فكري مرب مصري عريق، تعكس كتبه التربوية صورة المجتمع الشرقي المحافظ الراقي على ضوء الإسلام قبل أن يفتن الناس بالغرب وما جاء منه أيا كان، وكتابه هذه مكمل للآخر \"تربية البنات\" وهو منهج حياة الطفل يصلح لأن تجعله الأم المربية مرشدا \"لها إذ يرسم الفاضل من الأخلاق، ويصلح أيضا\" لأن يقرأه الطفل في نحو العاشرة من عمره. أهمية الأدب، فضل الصدق والأمانة وبر الوالدين والشجاعة وذم أضداد هذه الصفات بإرشادات وقصص هادف وأناشيد ترسخ معاني الفضيلة، وهو يبني ذلك على الآيات والأحاديث وينسبها أحيانا \"إلى كتبها كالصحيحين، ولكن لا يفوتني أنه أفلت منه حديثا غير صحيح وهو \"أدبني ربي فأحسن تأديبي\" فرحمه الله تعالى.
