إن السبب الذي دفع المؤلف لمثل هذا البحث؛ هو الحيرة التي وجدها في عيون الملتزمين، عندما يظنون أنهم قد أمنوا الشروط للنصر - في أي مجال ثم يفاجأون بعكس ما يتوقعون!! وكذلك للداعين الذين يبذلون-على زعمهم-وسعهم وجهدهم بالدعاء إلى الله تعالى ثم تراهم يقولون بلسان الحال لا المقال إن الله لم يستجب لنا ! كذلك عندما تسمع من يقول هؤلاء الكفار - على كفرهم - ينتصرون علينا ونحن المؤمنين؟! هم الكفار يتمتعون بالدنيا ونحن نعيش تحت مستوى خط الفقر ؟! كذلك الشاب الذي يقول لك : إني لا أتلذذ بقراءة القرآن بل أشعر أنه يكون - أحيانا - عبئا علي ويتململ من وضعه هذا، متأملا أن يصل لمستوى التدبر والخشوع، ولكن ما السبيل ؟! ترى بعض الشباب يقولون : نحن نستطيع حضور الحفلة الفلانية الماجنة، ثم نعود ونصلي الله عدة ركعات توبة ؟!!.
