اختصت بعض الجماعات عن جماعة أهل السنة بكثير من عقائد متطرفة تخالف عقيدة المسلمين وإجماع الأمة كتضليلهم الصحابة، وقولهم بخلق القرآن، وقول الخوارج بتكفير صاحب الكبيرة واتفاقهم مع المعتزلة بقولهم بخلوده في النار ونفيهم الشفاعة لإخراج العصاة من النار وإنكارهم رؤية الله عز وجل يوم القيامة إلى آخر جريدتهم العفنة. ومن هذه العقائد التي أنكروها وهي من أهم العقائد الدينية القطعية سؤال القبر وفتنته وعذابه زاعمين أن الأحاديث الواردة في ذلك أخبار آحاد أو ضعيفة، وأن في ذلك إرهابا للمسلم وإرعابا له. وهذه رسالة يقدمها عبد الله التليدي لمن يهمه الأمر يبين فيها أن أحاديث فتنة القبر وعذابه ونعيمه بلغت مبلغ التواتر القطعي ورواها عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الجم الغفير من أصحابه رضي الله تعالى عنهم وأنها تقارب الخمسين حديثا ووقع على ذلك الإجماع من أهل العلم عبر العصور.
