لقد اشتهرت في الثقافة الإسلامية، بعض المتون وسار ذكرها بين الناس فحفظها القاصي والداني، وجريا على هذا المنهج التعليمي، الذي كان سائدا آنذاك في أوساط الزيتونة فقد نظم الشيخ محمد المدني (1888-1959 م) متنا سماه : \"هدية الإخوان في الإيمان والإسلام والإحسان\"، يتألف من 520 بيتا، جمع فيه أهم المسائل العقدية والفقهية والصوفية التي يحتاج إليها المؤمن. وقد سعى الشيخ محمد المدني من خلال هذا النظم، إلى أن يحصر كل مضامين الديانة الإسلامية بأقسامها الثلاثة (العقائد الإيمانية والعبادات الفقهية والمقامات الروحية) في نص واحد، يشملها جميعا وتسهل الإحاطة بها. هذا، ولا تخفى القيمة التعليمية لمثل هذه المتون، فقد صيغت لتحفظ وتكرر، وهدفها تلخيص قواعد العلم.
