يتناول كتاب (صفة النفاق وذم المنافقين للإمام المحدث أبي بكر جعفر بن محمد الفريابي) والذي قام بتحقيقه محمد عبد القادر عطا، موضوع (النفاق والمنافقين) الكتاب محقق جاء في صفات المنافقين والتحذير من النفاق، وقد جمع مؤلفه فيه من الأحاديث والآثار، ووجد المحقق أن به بعض الآثار تحتاج إلى بحث في إسنادها حتى يعلم ثبوتها من عدمه، فقام بتخريج الأحاديث. كذلك وجود صفات للمنافقين في القرآن العظيم، أكثر من السنة المطهرة، لم يتطرق إليها المؤلف، فذكرها المحقق مع ذكر نبذة عنها تتميما للفائدة، وتحذيرا من هذه الصفات الذميمة.
