Overview
غزوة حنين، هي غزوة وقعت في الثالث عشر من شهر شوال في السنة الثامنة للهجرة بين المسلمين وقبيلتي هوازن وثقيف في واد يسمى حنين بين مدينة مكة والطائف. كان قائد المعركة وسببها رجلا يسمى مالك بن عوف النصري من قبيلة هوازن وقد سير جيشه حتى وصل بالقرب من مكة، وعندما وصلت الأخبار للمسلمين وجه المسلمون جيشا كبيرا وكان يضم الكثير ممن أسلموا بعد فتح مكة وقد أعجبت كثرة الجيش وعدته وعتاده المسلمين ووصلوا بثقتهم بالجيش إلى حد الغرور حتى قال بعض المسلمين لن نغلب اليوم من قلة.
