هذا الكتاب الجماعي، يبتغي تقديم اخوتنا التركمان الى باقي اخوتهم العراقيين. نجد معلومات موسوعية مكثفة عن كل ما من شانه التعريف بالتركمان تاريخهم وتفرعاتهم وثقافتهم ودورهم الحضاري في التاريخ الاسلامي والحالي ومناطق عيشهم وتقاليدهم وشخصياتهم. طبعا هنالك الكثير مما ينقص هذا الكتاب لكي يكون فعلا موسوعة شاملة لكل ما يخص التركمان، لكنها تبقى محاولة أولى تؤسس المحاولة ثانية ستكون أكبر وأشمل. أن اختيارنا للتركمان وليس غيرهم، نابع من قناعتنا بانهم يستحقون أكثر من ذلك، لأن التاريخ العراقي الحديث للأسف لم يعطهم حقهم من التعريف. ويقينا أن هذا الكتاب هو بداية المشاريع عديدة للتعريف بباقي الفئات العراقية، القومية والدينية والمذهبية والمناطقية، وحتى العشائر والقرى العراقية.
