وقعت حرب المورة في أوائل عشرينيات القرن التاسع عشر-واشتدت من 6 يناير 1824 إلي 20 أكتوبر 1827-واستمرت حوالي ثلاث سنوات ؛ ابتداء من وصول طلائع الأسطول المصري بقيادة إبراهيم باشا حتى انسحاب بقايا هذا الأسطول بعد مؤامرة تدمير القوات المتحالفه له، والمكونة من إنجلترا وفرنسا وروسيا. وهذه المجموعة من الوثائق عن هذه الحرب توجد أصولها في أرشيف الدولة النمساوية، وقد جري نسخها في أوائل الثلاثينات. من القرن الماضي في إطار محاولة الملك فؤاد كتابة تاريخ أسرة محمد علي فرع إبراهيم. وقد قام بهذا الجهد عدد من الباحثين الأجانب الذين جري توظيفهم في ذلك المشروع. والوثائق عبارة عن تقارير قناصل وبعثات دبلوماسية، وهي موجهة إلي المستشار النمساوي الأشهر ميترنيخ.
