Overview
يعتمد هذا الفيلم على أحداث تاريخية حقيقة وقعت في اليونان في يونيو 1963 وتحول التاريخ إلى قصة كتبتها ريشة الكاتب اليوناني فاسيلي فاسيليكوي وطبعت في اليونان ثم منعت بعد فترة قصيرة من نشرها وقد ترجمت هذه القصة إلى الفرنسية ونشرتها مؤسسة جاكيارد للنشر ومازال مؤلفها منفيا حتى الآن عن بلاده وقد حرص كل من كوستا جافرا وجورج سمبرن كاتبي السيناريو على المحافظة على أصل القصة ولهذا السبب فقد كتبا أكثر من سيناريو عنه وقد اطلعت على اثنين من السيناريوهات المكتوبة الأول أدبي بحث يكتفي بالإشارة إلى اللقطات وحركات الكاميرا بينما يزيد الثاني في التفاصيل منها وكلا هذين السيناريوهن والسناريوهات التالية التي كتبت لا تعطي فكرة دقيقة عن الفيلم لأن المخرج كان كثيرا ما يغير أفكاره أثناء الإخراج العملي.
