كانت القرية تزحف كلها الى الهضبة لتشهد فرسانها وهم يسبحون على متون الخيل كأنهم يقودون افراسا من نور. وكان على الهضبة عرس حقيقي للرجولة، يقيمونه عندما يفرغون من الحصاد وجني الغلال، فاذا جاء الموسم طيبا، كان للجريد معنى آخر لديهم، فتخرج الصبايا في ابهى زينة، وتعقد حلقات الرقص والدبكة، ويسهر الجميع حتى ساعة متأخرة من الليل ان القرية، في هذه المجموعة، لها هذا المهاد الحلو، وعلى أساسه ينهض الواقع الفني صياغة للقصة، كما ينهض واقع الحياة، وطنا وريفا ومجتمعا، ليجد تعبيره في قصص جديرة باهتمام القراء والنقاد.
