يشتمل هذا الكتاب على دراسة نقدية تتناول أعمال الأديب اللبناني \"سهيل إدريس\" أعدها جورج ازوط وأشرف عليها الدكتور جبور عبد النور ويقسم الكتاب إلى ثماني فصول، تناول الفصل الأول \"محور الأسرة\" أما الفصل الثاني فجاء بعنوان \"غلبة الغرب\" وكان الفصل الثالث بعنوان \"باب الهدم، مساوئ المجتمع الشرقي\" ثم الفصل الرابع وخصص \"الاتجاه الغني في القصص الإدريسي\" ويأتي الفصل الخامس في نفس السياق السابق وخصص لرؤية غدريس الحدث، والزمان، والمكان والحبكة القصصية وتناول الفصل السادس \"المنحى الجمالي\" وأما الفصل السابع فكشف عن \"خصائص الأسلوب\" وجاء الفصل الثامن بعنوان \"فصل البناء\".
