الهدف من الكتاب هو التعريف بالإيزيدية كديانة وشعب وتاريخ، وإن مقومات بقائها وسط هذا التشابك مرهون بالحفاظ على أمنها القومي وكذلك تراثها وهويتها كما أن التعايش السلمي الذي يفرضه الواقع بحكم الاختلاف الاجتماعي هو من أهم الضرورات وخاصة بعد الإبادة الجماعية التي وقعت على رأس الإيزيديين في 14 /8 /2007 وكذلك في 3 / 8 /2014 وما نتج ذلك من خلل اجتماعي والنزوح إلى المخيمات والهجرة خارج العراق على 8 سنوات.
