تحكي القصة عن \"عزيز\" المرح الجميل في مظهره وشخصيته القوية التي تحولت إلى النقيض بفعل عادة المجتمع اليمني(الشمالي-الجنوبي) في تناول القات منذ سن الصغر ضاف أليها الإدمان على الحبوب المخدرة والشمة التي انتشرا مع فجر الوحدة اليمنية. يرى عزيز ماسي الحرب حرب الوحدة التي حلم بها فتهون عليه حياته وتأثر به تأثير مباشر فيقرر التيه حيث يجد خاتمته دون أن يشعر بنتائج تصرفاته لوقوعه تحت تأثير الإدمان على القات والحبوب المخدرة. في القصة ترى جوانب مضيئة اسهمت في تقوية شخصية \"عزيز\" وترى الجوانب التي تسببت في هدمها الى ان وصل به الحال الى نهاية كتلك التي يتسبب بها تأثير القات، موجود وغير موجود حي وميت فلا هو له اثر يذكر ولا هو عرف له قبرا يقطع الشك باليقين حيث ترتاح أسرته من عناء البحث.
