يتحدث الكتاب عن أدب الأطفال وثقافتهم حيث لقد كان موضوع أدب الأطفال شغلا للكل من خلال فترة ليست بالقصيرة ووجدنا نقصا نسبيا في المكتبة العربية بالكتب التي تناولته رغم أن كل منا يتعامل يوميا وبأشكال مختلفة مع الطفل وتعليمه وتربيته إلا أننا قليلا ما قرأنا عن أدب الطفل رفعا لجاهزيتنا وثقافتنا بهذه المسألة ويتناول الكتاب مفهوم ثقافة الطفل وتأثرها بثقافة المجتمع الذي يعيش فيه ويتحدث أيضا عن قضية بالغة الأهمية في نمو الطفل وهي تشكل شخصيته وسلوكه والإتصال عموما والثقافي خصوصا عند الطفل.
