الكتاب تجميع لثلاث مقالات متفرقة كتبها الدكتور كردود على زعم الاستشراق والمستشرقين في مسائل عدة تخص الفقه الإسلامي، من أهم هؤلاء أجنس جولد تسيهر يوسف شاخت ثم باتريشيا كرون، كما يحوي الكتاب مقالة لدايفيد باورز مع رد دحلاق عليها، حقيقة الكتاب ممتع جدا بالرغم من سوء الترجمة، حقا ترجمة سيئة أبسط ما فيها أنها لا تراعي الفرق بين الجذر والمصدر، يا ريت القائمين الأكارم على مركز نماء يولون أهمية أكثر للتدقيق والمراجعة، والحل حقا موجود خاصة بالنسبة لكتب دكتور وائل حلاق، الرجل حي يرزق وقد راجع ترجمة المركز العربي للأبحاث ودراسة السياسات للدولة المستحيلة بنفسه، لا باس أن تستثمروا قليلا في هذا فالكتب في كل الحالات باهظة الثمن على الأقل يكون ثمنها بقيمة الجهد المبذول فيها.
