تقع هذه الجموعة في مائة وثماني صفحات من القطع الوسط، وفيها فضلا عن الإهداء، والمقدمة 15 قصة قصيرة هي على التوالي: أجراس، العتبة، الاجتماع، الحدود، قطيعة، دموع يوسف، أشياء صغيرة، الحاكورة، مارشات عسكرية، سيرة العملاقة، شاي على الحطب، شجرة الكينا، الضباع، الجدار، الخابية. وكانت الكاتبة هند أبو الشعر بدأت طريقها الأدبي شاعرة، ثم تحولت للقصة القصيرة، فأصدرت في العام 1981 أولى مجموعاتها القصصية بعنوان \"شقوق في كف خضرة\"، ثم توالت بعد ذلك كتبها : المجابهة، الحصان، عندما تصبح الذاكرة وطنا، والوشم، وقصص أخيرة.
