يقدم الكاتب قراءة لأحداث تاريخية تجعلنا نقول ما أشبه الليلة بالأمس، وكذلك ما أشبه المشهد السياسي في الصين بما يجري في أرض العرب. فالرواية مترامية الأطراف تجري أحداثها على مسرح يمتد عبر آلاف الأميال من حدود الصين وماليزيا شرقا إلى حدود مصر ومملكة مالي غربا، ولذلك فهي توفر وجبة إبداعية دسمة لجميع الطعوم التي يرغب فيها القارئ العربي والصيني، بل لعلها كذلك تربي نهما معرفيا لدى القارئ في أي مكان من العالم تتحدث الرواية «طريق الشمس»، عن أسرة مينغ الإمبراطورية، كموضوع لها وتحكي قصصه التاريخية في قيادة أسطول السفن للوصول إلى الجزيرة العربية، ومقابلة كبار المسؤولين والمندوبين التجاريين المحليين في مختلف الدول، وتسوية النزاع بين قبائل الجزيرة العربية، وعودة الأسطول مع مبعوثي مختلف الدول إلى عاصمة الصين في نهاية الأمر عن طريق الهند وسيلان وغيرها من الأماكن للمشاركة في حفل كبير أقيم في القصر الإمبراطوري الصيني وقتها.
