Overview
تبدأ هذه الرواية بشخصية الراعي \"سالم\" الذي حملت المنطقة فيما بعد اسمه بعد تحويرات لغوية. استدل الراعي سالم على الماء واستدل على الصخرة، من ثم تقاطرت الوفود القبلية من الرعاة مع الهجرات القادمة من الجنوب وعثرت على نبع الماء وبدأت عملية الاستيطان وأخذت المنطقة بالعمران. بدأ الوافدون يرون في الصخرة منظرا مختلفا وبدأت الروايات تظهر ونظرا لما يحيط بالأجداد من قصص بعد موتهم تشكلت قصص كثيرة حول الصخرة والكهف الذي تحتها وفي القسم الأخير وبينما كانت المنطقة تحت الحكم البيزنطي جاء للمنطقة بنو إسرائيل بعد عودتهم من السبي البابلي وقد تاهوا في الصحراء حتى استدلوا على نبع الماء فتلقفتهم المدينة البيزنطية وأشفقت عليهم وعاشوا في ظل السلام البيزنطي آنذاك بأمان.
