تناول الكناب أن الحمد لله الذي خلق الانسان، وعلمه البيان، وشرّفنا بالقرآن، والصلاة والسلام على افصح العرب لسانا، وابلغهم حجة النبي الأمي الذي اتاه الله جوامع الكلم، وعلى آله وأصحابه، ومن سار على نهجهم الى يوم الدين. أما بعد، فإن المكتبة العربية في وقتنا الحاضر تزخر بتراث غزير من المخطوطات النادرة التي لم ترَ النور الى هذه اللحظة، ولعل علوم اللغة العربية تأخذ المساحة الكبرى في عدد مخطوطاتها إذا ما قورنت بالعلوم الاخرى. ومن بين تلك المخطوطات ذات القيمة الكبيرة، والفائدة العظيمة كتاب (مثلث ابن الشحنة) وهو من علماء القرن العاشر الهجري والذي دعاني الى تحقيق هذا الكتاب هو اخراج الكتاب من ظلمات الغبار الى نور القراءة، لينهل منه كل طالب علم.
