خمسة عشرة كتابا مختلفا بعناوينها ومواضيعها وأشكالها، كتب مقدماتها الدبلوماسي والأديب الراحل نجدة فتحي صفوة، في فترات زمنية مختلفة أغلب هذه الكتب هي مذكرات لشخصيات عراقية كانت لهم معرفة خالصة وصداقة قديمة به أو أنه عمل معهم في حقبة زمنية معينة، أو طلب منه ذلك بشكل شخصي وهذه المقدمات خير تعبير من الكاتب ورأيه الصائب عن تلك الشخصيات وتاريخها في الحياة العملية والحياتية لذلك فإن القارئ سيجد متعة ما بعدها متعة عند قراءته لتلك المقدمات وكأنه قرأ كل هذه المجموعة من الكتب وتعرف على شخصياتها من خلال كتاب واحد وبشكل مقتضب ووافي، من مقولة (المختصر المفيد) وسيتعرف على شخصيات مهمة وأسماء عريقة، كانت لها دور مميز في العراق وبصمة رائدة في تاريخه.يعتبر نجدة فتحي صفوة، من أكثر الكتاب العراقيين وربما العرب الذين عهدت إليهم أو طلب إليهم كتابة مقدمات لكتب شتى، نظرا لسعة ثقافته في التاريخ وخلفيته الواسعة في الكتابة والأدب والباع الطويل في التوثيق والتأليف.
