قد اشتمل هذا الكتاب الذي أرجو أن يفيد المدرس على أربعة فصول خصص الفصل الأول التعلم المعرفي واستراتيجيات معالجة المعلومات واستراتيجيات الإدراك المعرفية وما وراءها ومنشطاتها. أما الفصل الثاني فقد تناول الاستذكار والاستراتيجيات المناسبة لتطويره. أما الفصل الثالث فتناول التفكير العلمي، أسسه وخصائصه. أما الفصل الرابع فتناول دراسة لبحث تجريبي : فاعلية استراتيجية الإدراك المعرفية وما فوق المعرفية في التحصيل والاستذكار لطالبات الصف الخامس العلمي في مادة الكيمياء وتنمية تفكيرهن العلمي وقد تم بناء مقياسين أحدهما للتفكير العلمي والآخر لقياس الاستذكار.
