Overview
بذل الكثير من الدارسين-المستشرقين والكرد على السواء-جهودا كبيرة لجمع الحكايات الشعبية الكردية وتدوينها صونا لها من الضياع. ولكن بموازاة ذلك، أو على الأقل في إثر ذلك، لم يلتفت أحد إلى دراسة جادة وموضوعية، فأكثر ما كتب في هذا الباب لم يخرج عن ميدان الاعتزاز والأطناب الإنشائي بعيدا عن أية نظرة نقدية. يسعى المؤلف، هنا، إلى المضي أبعد قليلا ومقاربة بعض النصوص الحكائية الكردية بعين النقد والتمحيص فيغوص في أعماقها ويفكك أوصالها ويتابع منابتها ويتمعن في أوجهها من أجل تحليلها وقراءة ما بين سطورها وفرز ما فيها من غث وسمين. يحاول المؤلف أن يقرأ الحكايات بعين الناقد وأن يسمي الأشياء بأسمائها.
