تعد رواية \" وصايا الغبار\" للكاتب مازن عرفة أول عمل روائي عربي يكشف عن عالم مخبوء ومهمل ومقموع في بانوراما الفساد الثقافي والسياسي والديني وأجهزة الاستقرار، فيه تنبوءات للحالة الراهنة ومستقبلها عبر 664 صفحة. تتشعب الرواية في أحداثها بفضح إيديولوجية النعيم الإسلامي بكل أبعاده الجنسية استناداً إلى فتاوى \" آلهة\" الصحراء، وبفضح الجنة الأمريكية التي تطرح نفسها بديلاً اعتماداً على ثقافة الاستهلاك التي شوهتنا نفسياً وروحياً عبر رؤى شخصيات مفصلية في مواقع اتخاذ القرار الأمريكي، وصولاً إلى فضح العقلية الخشبية للرقابة العربية على الكتاب في أنظمة الاستبداد السياسي والديني. تخرج الرواية إلى الضوء عبر صفحات مثيرة من السخرية والألم على التردي الثقافي الذي وصلنا إليه بخليط من التراجيديا القاسية والكوميديا السوداء في إطار يصل فيه المؤلف إلى أقصى درجات الفانتازيا اللامعقولة.
