لا يخفى على طالب العلم أهمية العلم قراءة علم التوحيد وفهمه، وأنه من الفروض العينية التي لا ينبغي إهمالها، لا سيما في أيامنا هذه، وقد كثر المشككون والمضلون، فكان لزاما وجود كتاب شامل لمسائل العقيدة بألفاظ موجزة، سهلة العبارة، واضحة المعنى، فهو كتاب نافع غزير العلم كثير الفوائد, فيه من الدرر ما خلا منها كثير من المطولات. وكان من أهم ما تناوله الكتاب ما يلي : بيان معنى التوحيد، مطلب في معنى الصلاة والسلام على رسول الله، آل النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام، تعريف علم التوحيد، بيان أقسام الحكم، تعريف العقل، الإلهيات، النبوات، السمعيات، الأخلاق والتصوف.
