Overview
علم القانون هو دراسة تمهيدية وشرح للمبادئ العامة المشتركة في العلوم القانونية. وهذا يعني إبتداء أن المدخل إلى علم القانون ليس مرتبطا بفرع معين من فروع القانون التي تنتظم جميعها في إطار عام هو النظام القانوني للدولة، لأنه يرتبط بكل فروع النظام القانوني، فهو يمهد للفروع القانونية جميعها. ولكن مع التسليم بصحة هذا الرأي، فقد جرى العمل على أن دراسة المدخل إلى علم القانون تلحق بالقانون المدني، وذلك تأسيسا على أن القانون المدني هو القانون العام حيث اختص بنصيب الأسد فيما يتعلق بالنص على أغلب المبادئ والقواعد العامة التي تدخل الدراسة التمهيدية للقانون.
