يتناول هذا الكتاب مظهرا من مظاهر تطور المسؤولية المدنية ويرمز إلى توسع نطاقها ليشمل العلاقات الأسرية وهذا الموضوع لئن كان لا يثير صعوبة في الدول اللائكية كفرنسا مثلا إذ يتناول القانون المدني فيها تنظيم العلاقات الأسرية إلى جانب العلاقات المالية (أو الحقوق المالية) وبالتالي فإن القواعد العامة للقانون المدني تسري على العلاقات الأسرية بما في ذلك قواعد المسؤولية المدنية مع إدخال الغاية فإن الأمر ليس كذلك في جل الدول الإسلامية إذ يتم تنظيم العلاقات الأسرية فيها بموجب قوانين خاصة مستمدة جل قواعدها من الفقه الإسلامي تحت مسميات متنوعة تأكيدا على تميزها واستقلاليتها.
